Annual Educational Nights

Multicultural Night

upark2014Once a year the University Park Elementary School Community is invited to a Multi-Cultural Night of Feasting and Fun.  The event is an evening of food and fun from around the globe, and includes a Parade of Nations.  Families are invited to bring a pot-luck style dish their family’s culture.  The variety of foods, dress and art is a wonderful representation of the cultural diversity at UPark and is a fun night for all ages.

This year, Multicultural Night will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5:30-7 pm.

Art Night

UPark values the arts, and one of our favorite annual events is Art Night, when families gather in the gym to get creative at a variety of art stations. Activities at last year’s Art Night included creating giant stuffed turtles, learning the zentangle method of drawing, sculpting with recycled materials, testing our origami skills, and more. This year, Art Night will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:30-7 pm.  This is a fun night for the whole family that you don’t want to miss.  Please contact UPark art teacher Carol Redmond if you’d like to volunteer for this fun annual event.
Art teacher Carol Redmond also coordinates three UPark Art Shows throughout the school year, and every student has the opportunity to see one of their works of art on display for all their friends and family to enjoy.
