What year did you begin teaching (working in education)?
2016

Where did you go to college?
I got my Associate’s in Elementary Education at Front Range Community College, and I am now attending UNC’s Center for Urban Education in Denver with a major in Elementary Education.

What is your favorite thing about University Park Elementary?
The sense of family! The students all work together to support and care for one another, along with the faculty to create a comfortable and accepting place to be. A place that I am always excited to go to every day and miss so much when I leave.

If a school day suddenly got canceled, how would you spend the day?
I would think about how much I miss my students! But other than that, I love to hike, be artistic, sing and dance, watch movies and spend time with my friends and my big puppy, Melo.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s a tough question because I love all food! But, if I were to choose one food, it would be potatoes. I love potatoes in any shape, style or form.

If you were not an educator, what do you think your job would be?
Being an educator is my dream and my passion in life so not doing that would be hard. If I had to choose, my job would be a guidance counselor for students of all ages.

What is something your students might be surprised to know about you?
I was born and raised in England for 12 years, and I also have a twin brother.

What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?
I was playing catch with my dog Melo. He got a little too excited as he was running back to me with his toy and he slipped and tumbled onto the ground. Melo pretended that I didn’t see anything and kept playing as if nothing happened. Trust me, I saw it all and I can’t stop laughing about it. The best part is that I got it on video, but shhh… don’t tell Melo!
